BIM success story: a video about our BIM implementation
Autodesk Benelux and GEO IT chose our office as a great example of a successful Revit implementation and they made a video about it, starring our colleagues Klaas and Dion.
Since October 2018, our projects are being built in Revit, making B-architecten pioneers in BIM (Building Integrated Management) use. Through its 3D modelling, BIM guarantees a more efficient and qualitative working process with construction partners and therefore an improved result that benefits both the architects, the contractor and the client.
In connection to this, we set up the so-called Revit room: a quality room that leads the transformation to BIM in the right direction. An in-house team of three experts is available to our employees and manages the internal BIM protocols.
The video features Turnova and Mundo-a, two of our recent projects. Also have a look at Roeselare Town Hall, KdG Campus Meir and MINT: three projects in which BIM plays an important role.
"Door de complexiteit van zijn ontwerpen was B-architecten op zoek naar een intelligente tekentool. Lange tijd werd gewerkt met AutoCAD, wat in de jaren ’90 de stap van handgetekende naar digitale plannen was. Vooral bij grote projecten stelt zich steeds het probleem dat aanpassingen handenvol geld kosten. Het uithalen van een meetstaat of de bepaalde hoeveelheden uit een model neemt hierbij ook veel tijd in beslag.
B-architecten zocht een tool die de mogelijkheid biedt om met de klant op een eenvoudige manier een project te overlopen en op bepaalde details in te zoomen, wat met 2D tekeningen vaak heel complex is.
De belangrijkste uitdaging voor B-architecten was het sneller en correct uitwisselen van informatie met klanten en andere partijen die meewerken aan eenzelfde project."
