Turnova - Schakel

Turnova will become a vibrant new neighbourhood near the Grote Markt in the middle of Turnhout. B-architecten will design the part de Schakel.

The part de Schakel consists of 30 apartments, an underground car park holding 480 places, a big commercial plinth course of about 11.000 m2 and a 72 m high tower with apartments, offices, restaurants and pubs and a public roof terrace.

De Schakel connects the Arts School to the Tweetorentjesplein. It is a mixed building with on the ground floor shops, spacious entrance halls for the living units and an exit for the underground “car condo” car park.
The excellent location and orientation of de Schakel are strong assets for the houses to come. All flats have big indoor terraces. This big mixed use building is built with auburn bricks thus referring to the history of this industrial site.
