B-architecten guest speaker at Realty 2023
On 19 and 20 September, Belgium's annual real estate summit Realty Belgium took place at Brussels' Gare Maritime. The central theme of Realty 2023 was Milestones. How will we live in 2050?, with a focus on visions, practices, applications and materials that will help the real estate community put the carbon-free future into practice in a concrete way.
Together with Anton Maes (CEO Brainmove) and Kristiaan Borret (Bouwmeester-Maître Architecte Brussels Capital Region), B-architect Sven Grooten was a guest speaker on Maarten Van Acker's panel at the conference The Future of the Office.
Even more than the residential property market, the office market is undergoing a profound transformation. Covid has accelerated this one even more. We work differently and therefore have different demands on our workplace. Moreover, a significant proportion of the office stock is at risk of becoming redundant. Where does the future of office buildings lie and what does the office of the future look like? Renovation into state-of-the art sustainable working environment, reconversion into residential property, or demolition? Or are other uses possible? And where do we want to build new offices? This multi-disciplinary discussion panel discussed the options and brought insight into the future.
