Studies Manifestatie Bouw Anders compiled in eponymous book
The book Bouw Anders: ontwerpen aan wonen met maatschappelijke meerwaarde brings together various studies conducted in response to Groningen's 2022 architecture manifestation Bouw Anders.
For decades, Groningen has been organising architecture manifestations in which design research and practice are brought together. Manifestatie Bouw Anders (Manifestation Build Differently) was organised in 2022 and revolved around diversity in housing, exercises in new housing typologies and sustainable, nature-inclusive and affordable living - in short: building differently.
Like 17 other design teams, B-architecten was commissioned to translate the high ambitions of this manifesto into a design study that examined how we should and want to live in the near future. The locations studied were spread throughout the municipality of Groningen; B-architecten examined a building plot from the Suikerzijde master plan.
From now on, the eponymous book is also available. Bouw Anders: ontwerpen aan wonen met maatschappelijke meerwaarde compiles the plans of all design offices that participated in the manifestation, together with texts and essays related to the Bouw Anders topic.
The book was presented at the Groningen city festival Let's Gro on Friday 3 November 2023 and is now available for order here.
